Provide Your Designer With Helpful Feedback
Your feedback is important to us! Let us know what you are thinking, we can’t read your mind.
Don’t be afraid to be honest with us. If you don’t like something, let us know. If you absolutely love something, tell us that too. We are designers, we are used to being critiqued. When providing feedback, please be specific!
Whether the feedback is for video, web, print, or another type of project, please try to avoid phrases like “Make it pop” or “I don’t know what it is about it, but I don’t like it”. Vague comments like this are not helpful as they do not provide us with the direction needed to modify your production.
As an alternative, it is helpful for both parties if you use more descriptive comments like, “I don’t think the colors contrast enough, what if we used ___ for a color” or “___ feels like it is falling into the background, could you increase the size, or do something to pull it forward”. This type of feedback provides us with a direction that you would like to see your design move forward in.
We understand that as a non-designer using the correct verbiage to express how you feel about a design can be frustrating. Don’t worry, we are here to help you! If you are having difficulty explaining what you want in text, or if you don’t know the correct terminology for what you want, give us an example. This doesn’t mean that we will mimic what you show us, but we will at least be on the same page with what it is that you are looking for, and from there we create a unique design that will exceed your expectations.
If you are still finding it difficult to express your thoughts, give us a call. Sometimes having a conversation vs. exchanging an email makes all the difference.
We look forward to your feedback!
